Dr. Carlo Vezzoli of Fontana Vetri d'Arte (Vedar) in Milan produced this line of superbly painted glassware between 1925 and 1930. This bowl is fascinating to examine up close, given the immaculately enamelled scene of numerous characters from classical mythology that covers the exterior of the finely blown glass. I have included a picture of a very similar piece in the Corning Museum of Glass. This bowl is in excellent shape and is a great example of an atypical art deco era glasswork.
