Archimede Seguso created a technique of seamless graduated colour change (in this case from yellow to green) that he presented at the Venice Biennale in 1958. His choice of warm, mediterranean colours in this vase is consistent with his preference over the colder Nordic colours he saw used by the Scandinavian glass makers. This vase is also notable for the graceful and pronounced perforations (forati) that make the piece especially sculptural. It is in very good condition with only a few light scuffs that can only be noticed on the closest examination.
