Masterfully designed bird in the nest ring comes from romantic period of Victorian era
(1837 – 1860).
This graceful ring bears a sentimental meaning of protection of young
and new life, home, nurturing creativity in general.
The bird and the nest are precisely die cast with from green and rose gold
and engraved to complete minuscule details.
A natural pearl completes the design.
The base under the bird is made of blackened rose gold
attached to the solid 18K yellow gold shank for size 5 finger.
The face of the ring is 15 mm X 11 mm X 6 mm
(9/16 X 7/16” X 7/32”)
The ring weighs 3.2 grams.
There is no hallmarks, the shank tested as 18K yellow gold,
the rest of the ring tested 14K.
Excellent antique condition commensurate with age.
The band of the base has an opening on one side.
The opening is originally made in the original process
of the creation of the ring.
We could not determine the purpose of the opening.
