Victorian Austro-Hungarian Egyptian revival turquoise carved scarab gold wash silver pendant
measures 2 5/8" X 7/16". The pendant bears all eclectic elements in vogue of that period:
Egyptian revival scarab, gargoyles, fleur-de-lis, filigree.
All these are complimented with real rubies and emeralds.
Brightness of emeralds and rubies accented with whiteness of mother of pearls at the top and the bottom of the pendant.
Bezel set hand carved on both sides natural green matrix turquoise scarab, 15/16" X 13/16", mounted in the center of the pendant.
The pendant is covered with beautiful antique patina. It stamped 800 for silver purity
and there is hallmark, which I read as a sitting eagle although it is hardly legible. It's weight 14.2 grams.
The pendant is suspended from embossed double link gold filled chain, 21" long.
The pendant is in excellent condition commensurate with age.
Spring ring clasp stamped 1-20 14K.
The chain has signs of wear.
