The double Albert watch chain is named after Prince Albert (1819-1861), husband of Great Brittan Queen Victoria. The chain draped between both watch pockets with watch and larger fob attached to the dog clip style clasps, the T-bar tucked into buttonhole of the waistcoat, and a short pendant chain in the middle. The double chain is back to style in form of the necklace. It is highly popular and sought after among fashionable ladies. Presented double Albert curb watch chain boasts heavy 45 grams of 9K rose gold and measures 15 1/2" from end to end. The links are 3/16" or 6 mm wide. Both long ends equipped with dog clip clasp. The T-bar is in the center. Each link is stamped 9 and .375 for gold purity. The T-bar and the dog clips are also stamped 9 and .375 as well as the maker mark DE.
The chain is in excellent antique condition.
