This adorable brooch is a great example of Georgian jewelry.
Ladies at that time were wearing watches hung on the brooches like this.
It was and still can be worn as an eye catching brooch.
The brooch designed as collection of dimensional puffy scrolls
adorned with natural turquoise pave and seed pearls.
The brooch measures 1 7/8" wide, 1 1/4" tall, 3/8" thick, and weighs 6.9 grams.
The stones are set in silver to match color of the stones.
C clasps of the period were not reliable and the jewelry with such clasps were lost quite often.
Apparently the owner of the brooch ordered original clasp replaced with newly invented
secure C clasp at the beginning of 20's century.
The brooch is not hallmarked, 14K gold tested.
No missing stones.
Very good vintage condition commensurate with age
