A rare Imperial Russian gold, enamel, rubies fob pendant C.1880.
The fob lavishly adorned with vivid multi color enamel
in traditional Russian patterns. Enamel is set on sterling.
Both sides terminated with richly engraved caps,
each decorated differently.
One has a multi-layer rose and yellow gold crown with an engraved gold leaf inside.
The other has a chased gold dome with blue and black enamel flowers
and 3 rubies.
The fob is 1 3/8" long, just under 5/8" diameter.
The whole pendant is 2 1/4" high.
There is no hallmarks on the fob, tested 14K
(it would be equal to 56 zolotnik gold in Imperial Russia hallmark system).
The fob body suspended on 2 gold fancy link chains
and gold dog clip clasp with swivel ring.
The clasp stamped 14K.
It measures 20 mm X 7 mm.
The whole pendant weighs 17.5 grams.
There are a few small chips on enamel.
Very good condition commensurate with age.
