The top of this astonishing ring was made during Victorian Aesthetic period
when the most refined jewelry was designed.
It features domed openwork and chased top creating a hollow
with a square blood stone inserted in it with corners of the latter
showing out from 4 openings on the side surface of the dome.
A crimped bezel star ruby cabochon mounted on the flat surface of the blood stone
in the recess in the center of the dome.
The dome is 12 mm diameter, it raises 6.5 mm above finger.
The back of the ring is closed with convex plate.
The plain band is 2 mm wide.
There is no hallmarks, the top tested 18K gold, the band is 14K gold.
Total weight is 2.7 grams.
Excellent antique condition.
The ring is a conversion from antique cuff links.
