This is a very stylish vintage Art Deco white metal and green Peking glass necklace in the style of Jacob Bengel, dating from the 1930's.
The necklace has very decorative twisted metal inks that are typical of Bengel's pieces and ornate metal links. A lovely Art Deco Peking glass necklace that would grace any collection.
Peking glass is an overlay carved glass formed by created by layering material around a core. To create the overlay, a glass blower makes the shape, then dips the shape into a basin of liquid glass several times. This process creates multiple layers of glass that are then carved away to produce a textured image. Peking glass is often made with different colored layers of glass, creating contrast when the outer layers are carved away. In the late 19th century, glass-works in Czechoslovakia produced imitation Peking glass beads for use as costume jewellery.
The final illustration shows a plate from the standard work on Jakob Bengel (Art Deco Jewelry) by C Weber-Stober. 2002. Notice the similarity of the knot work to the Bengel example.
