This is a mystery doll. She is incised “136 2/0”, Glass Eyed, on an old but later German body ( circa 1890 -1900) and approx. 12 1/2” tall. Hertel, Schwab & Co. has a “136” doll but it is a child doll. She is most definitely German. Her brows are very distinctive, butterfly lips and rosy cheeks. Her body is good- firm and free from tears and leaks. The limbs are also good- free from chips, breaks or cracks. I love her clothing- it was made a long time age with lots of detail- it is free from stains, fading, odors and tears. There is a small chip on the back of the shoulder plate and a small chip on the top lid of one eye. You can see two marks on her face where she was pulled from the mold. I have priced her very reasonably since she has a few problems and her history is not clear. She is full of character and mystery just looking for a home. Any questions please email.
