This character baby was made by Kammer & Reinhardt, Thuringia Germany, circa 1915. She is approx. 6 1/4" long, bisque head incised " 3/0" and a crude 5 piece composition body. The bisque is good- no chips, breaks or cracks. The molding is deep and just fabulous- fat little cheeks, double chin, impish smile and intaglio eyes. Her face is well painted - the hair is painted with single strokes. The body is crude ( which was the standard for after WW1 - no money, the Germans were just happy to have what they had) and one thumb is chipped off.
