Here is a beautiful Early 1900;s porcelain Staffordshire Fairing trinket box. The fairing depicts a young lady sitting on a dresser with a bowl on one side and a vase of flowers on the other. The lid of the dresser with the girl lifts off and the dresser is the trinket box.. There is a number 1288. embossed under the dresser lid. There are no other markings. This beautiful fairing dresser is hand-painted with blue, orange green purple and highlighted with gold trim. Fairings were given out as prizes during the late 1800's - early 1900's at Fairs in England and Germany. This piece of art is a wonderful piece of History. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks or repairs, measuring 4 1/4" with lid in place x 3" long x 1 3/4" wide. This would make an elegant addition to any fairing collection, a great gift or would be a very nice addition to any setting.
