Here is a charming porcelain Staffordshire Fairing from the late 1800's. This adorable fairing is white porcelain with a floral designed lid that depicts a sweet baby covered with a blanket in a cradle This item is hand-painted and has gold highlights. In the early days in England they would give these treasures away at Fairs, that is how they got their name "Fairing". Today all you get is a piece of plastic or a stuffed animal, Oh well, that's progress. This adorable porcelain Fairing is in very good vintage condition. This item is numbered on the bottom and there are markings on the inside of the lid. A small piece of the end of the rocker is missing, but that is not uncommon for an item of this age. The cradle, baby, blanket and flowers are in excellent condition. This item measures 2 3/4" tall x 2 3/4" wide and 3" long. This little gem is a part of our world history and would be an exquisite addition to any Fairing collection. Thank you for visiting our shop.
