Here is a German Porcelain Fairing of a pig playing tennis figurine, also a match-holder with a striker. This item is a fairing from the early 1900's, they use to give these figurines away as prizes at fairs, usually a special figurine. This one is very special, because it is a match-holder with a striker. Their are markings on the bottom of this item, but very difficult to read, the year seems to be 1914, cannot make out the artist. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks or repairs, measuring 3 3/4" in height x 3" long. There seems to be a name in script on the base of the figurine with a - then Tennis. This little porky pig has a very unique face and stance while holding his tennis racket. He is sitting on a plant, that is the match-holder with gold highlights. This would make an exquisite addition to a Fairing collection, or a unique gift for a tennis player. Thank you for visiting our shop.
