This beautiful doll is a very early bisque shoulder head doll that resembles a Parisian French fashion Type doll. She is a bisque head Doll with a pink molded beret/hat. Absolutely beautiful facial features with fantastic wavy molded hair. She stands approx 11 inches tall and is wearing her original black silk and lace trimmed gown that very much resembles a French Fashion style outfit. Has original slip underneath. Clothing is sewn on to her so I can not check her for makers marks. She feels as if she is stuffed with sawdust and maybe horse hair or straw. You can see a little remnant of sawdust on her black original socks. She also wears a slip and tiny leather boots that are worn from age. Has black lace that frames her face and reaches all around her neck. the lace is fragile and can use a stitch to stay in place. The pink beret does have a tiny mold defect in front. Please use zoom feature so you can see her well. Tiny pin holes in dress from age. Looks like small pieces of fabric on bodice area have come off. It appears the left eyebrow is shorter than the right, indicating most likely that she has been hand painted. Her nose does seem to have something that resembles a chip... however....it also appears to be a mold/manufacturing defect. It is smooth to the touch and not noticeable unless under magnification. Her body is cloth and she has bisque arms and hands. Her legs may be done in chambers. I am not sure. I can not lift the dress high enough without causing damage to the silk dress. I have not undressed her so I can not tell you exactly what is going on underneath the clothing but she seems very sturdy and firm. She is really a great doll. Very unique, very pretty and very early made.
