Factory original composition 17" Patsy Joan by Effanbee. This is the 2nd version of the doll circa 1939 - early 40s. This later version of Patsy Joan was made to look a little older to compete with other dolls of her time period that had a little bit of an older look such as Shirley Temple or Deanna Durbin. She has a more girlish body with a "Y" shape rear end and is taller than the original Patsy Joan who is 16" tall. The 17" Patsy Joan is the only Effanbee doll that is marked on the back EFFANDBEE instead of Effanbee. 6 piece all composition body. Molded hair. working clear sleep eyes with all lash. She is very sweet and display ready. Wears her ORIGINAL BLUE STRIPE FACTORY EFFANBEE DRESS w/ attached panties and MATCHING BONNET. Clothing looks to have never been laundered. Replaced shoes with factory socks. Strung well so she holds a pose nicely. She is a nice dolly and very pretty. Her composition is overall very good with no lifting, no repaints and no repairs. She has a side eye crack on right side. Typical very light crazing from age and time but nothing really to speak of. Over all coloring is lovely. Molded painted hair looks beautiful. Has all fingers. Please use zoom feature so you can see her well. Does not look to have been played with much. Very sweet and highly collectible Patsy Family doll.
