Very Early Effanbee TLC composition dolly. He is marked 54 from early 1900 around 1910. Body is cork or sawdust filled and the cloth and has had some repair. He is a little floppy but still displays great. Has a flange head that looks to have come loose in the past and someone has secured it. Composition head. 1/4 compo arms and cloth torso and cloth legs. Disc jointed. Compo shows ware from age and time. All original painted features. The number 54 is engraved at the back of the neck. which identifies this baby as a very early Effanbee . Two teeth can be seen when looking inside the mouth. He is dressed in old flannel PJs and has a mommy made half slip underneath. Very sweet but not perfect. If you like the early Effanbee baby dolls than this one is for you. Not easily found. He is display ready. stands 16" tall.
