14" Peterkin doll, circa late 1920s, manufactured by E.I. Horsman & Company. The doll, while named Peterkin, was dressed and sold as both a girl and a boy. This girl has a composition flange neck head, arms, and legs. She is jointed at the shoulders and hips with original cloth body. The doll has molded and painted blonde hair and facial features that resemble the Campbell Soup Kid and Dolly Dingle composition dolls. She is in good played with condition but not perfect. Has typical crazing from age and time. Her mouth was repainted and her feet have some repair to the toe area. A nice pair of shoes will cover it completely. There is typical chipping to the tips of the fingers and two of her fingers have been repaired. Looks like someone did repair work rebuilding the toes and fingers but never finished the paint work. Marked with raised lettering on the back of her neck that reads, “E.I. H. Co. INC.” . Very sweet dolly and not easy to find.
