I was at an antique store and just learned of these adorable little dolls. They are Frozen Charlotte tiny German bisque dolls that were used for Bridal Showers during the early 1900s. They were strung in rows for decoration at the event and when the party was over guests were able to take one as a parting gift or memory of the event. They came with silk ribbon so they could be hung around the neck while at the party. Each little Frozen Charlotte doll is enclosed in its own silk cocoon that were done in different colors. I fell in love with her when it was explained to me what she was used for and it has made me a collector of them. Such a smart little idea of use for them from the past. This little doll measures 2 1/2" tall. The arms and legs seem to be moveable but as long as she is in the silk cocoon they stay in the same position. Really cute and really tiny.
