Very early baby doll that has a metal head and metal hands and sits on a wooden bellow which when pressed lets out a cry. The bellow takes the place of legs. This dolly came with some info that advises it was made by Art Metal Works of Newark NJ. Please see photo. The bellow on this doll needs to either be replaced or repaired. It does not make any noise and is showing a metal bar sticking out from within the bellow. I am not familiar with how it works but it looks and feels like the bar needs to be re secured inside the bellow. Dolly stands about 8.5" tall. Has original baby gown with matching bonnet. The bonnet shows fabric ware from age. The ruffle has separated and the material has separated. The metal piece made a tear in the fabric of the baby gown. A few stitches will mend it fine. Head is lovely with paint still lovely and bright. Arms are made of strong structural metal with 1/4 metal hands. Baby is very cute, very rare and very early. Very unusual piece for a doll or toy collection. circa early 1900s. If you like early toys and you like to tinker than this one is for you! will refund any shipping overage.
