Superb lighting and brushwork on this old watercolor. It was painted with skill and considerable talent. Probably circa 1950s.
This seascape captured a storm brewing and the kind of mist heading inland when temperatures tend to drop. Painted with a monochromatic palette of grays, slate and touches of blue.
The paint was signed in the lower right corner by H. Anderson. The workmanship is exemplary and indicates a high level of artistry. I don't know if the artist was Harry Anderson who illustrated magazines in the 1940-1950s or someone else.
The painting was matted on white and framed in Connecticut. Frame measures about 22 1/4 inches x 28 1/2 inches; the opening is approximately 14 1/4 inches x 20 3/4 inches (has not been removed from frame and appears to be in excellent condition
