Found in a small antique, brass studded century trunk. The collection held several doll dresses, ensembles and hats; almost all were fashioned mid-19th century style with a few from the early part of the 20th, and made from fabrics of the same period. (Photo of collection below so you can see what it looks like.) This adorable night time ensemble was probably made sometime around 1890. Nightgown is light cotton, bloomers are embroidered and look like linen fabric was used; the night jacket is flannel, has one seam and trimmed with silk ribbons and overcast stitching and embroidery on all edges.
Measured flat: nightgown is around 3 1/2 in. shoulder to shoulder, 7 3/4 in. shoiulder to hem; bloomers are about 3 3/4 in. across the wiast and 3 3/8 in. waist to leg end; night jacket is about 4 in shoulder to shoulder, 4 1/2 in. underarm to underarm, 5 in. shoulder to hem. Bloomers are in excellent condition though fabric has some yellowing; night jacket has light fading; raw edges at neck and sleeve ends of night gown, hole in sleeve, few light stains;
