Found in a small antique, brass studded century trunk. The collection held several doll dresses, ensembles and hats; almost all were fashioned mid-19th century style with a few from the early part of the 20th, and made from fabrics of the same period. (Photo of collection below so you can see what it looked like.) Probably made sometime around 1890, this dress was made from a rich ruby red taffeta and has an lace inset on the long skirt. Long sleeves, high neck, measured flat it is around 2 3/8 in. shoulder to shoulder, 2 1/2 in. across the waist, 9 1/2 in. neckline to hem. Small spot on ruffled neck, some stains on back of skirt (hard to see, unphotographable).
