Found in a small antique, brass studded century trunk. The collection held several doll dresses, ensembles and hats; almost all were fashioned mid-19th century style with a few from the early part of the 20th, and made from fabrics of the same period. Circa 1880s, this dress features mutton sleeves and was made from fine copper tone red challis and maroon velvet.
The bodice lined with brown cotton and lace trim at neck. Measured flat, it is about 3 3/4 in. shoulder to shoulder, 4 in. across waist and 11 in. should to hem. Needs snaps or buttons at back; challis has about a dozen small holes sprinkled around the skirt.
