My longtime favorite U.S. watch firm is the Elgin National Watch Company. I think highly of Elgin, because they made a fine product at a reasonable price with great looks. This is a very rare model, only a few hundred were made and this is the first I have ever came across.
This Elgin wristwatch is Quadruple-signed and has a 14K yellow gold filled case. The gold looks very thick and has a nice shine. The case is 35mm x 25mm x 20mm not including the crown.
The mechanism is a clean, manual wind movement, signed ELGIN USA, 23 JEWELS, 6 x ADJ'D, [Grade] 710. The inside of the case lid is signed Cased and Timed by Elgin National Watch Co., Wadsworth Watch Case Company, This watch has been fully disassembled, cleaned, oiled and regulated to ensure it winds and sets smoothly and keeps accurate time.
The 100% original, untouched silver, satin enamel finished dial, with a light patina, guaranteed untouched since it left the factory over 60 years ago. I will offer to refinish the dial at no cost if you want. Features crisp, black enamel dots and baton marker numbers and gold markers at 12 and 6 fancy markers. Signed ELGIN below the 12. Display the accurate passing of time to graceful baton shaped hands, At 6 o'clock an inset, outlined sub seconds. The dial looks great covered with a new old stock arched crystal. This beauty will have you checking it often when it’s strapped on your wrist!
The Elgin is fitted on a new 17mm brown fully stitched calf leather strap with matching gold buckle.
