The Borel kaleidoscope watch is prominently featured in Faber and Unger’s “American Wristwatches: Five Decades of Style and Design” on page 245 – where it states that this watch was first introduced in the late 1940s. About no other watch can I say “to see it in action is to appreciate it” for its two revolving gold and white center dials are in constant motion, creating the effect of a flower blossom opening and closing…incredible!
This timepiece is electroplated case yellow gold in color. It measures 33mm lug tip to lug tip and 25mm in width (27mm with winding crown). It has been fully serviced and its original 17 jewel, Ernest Borel mechanism winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time.
The champagne gold color, enamel finished dial is in excellent condition. It features RED metal hour and minute hands that rotate around the outer edge and the famous white Kaleidoscope center! Signed ERNEST BOREL below the 12 and COCKTAIL at the base.

Vintage watches tend to be smaller. Please be sure that you are familiar with the sizes of vintage timepieces and check the measurements given.
Vintage Watches make great gifts for occasions such as Weddings, Anniversaries, Birthdays and Christmas. These vintage models are becoming much sought after and very rare so it's not something you see in everyday life making it something very special and unusual to give and receive.
Please remember that vintage watches have survived for many decades by being treated well. Vintage watches are not for wearing while doing yard work, working out, or swimming. They are a little more destructible than modern watches. Vintage watches also require periodic service and cleaning. Every couple of years, they must be oiled and cleaned by a professional. By taking care of your vintage watch, you will have years of great service, and a quality heirloom to pass to another generation.
