Fabulous Hamilton late 1970's early 1980 Sterling Silver open face pendant. Case, crystal and dial are in excellent gently pre-owned condition. This item has been very carefully stored over the years.
The original Hamilton case is engraved in a exploding fern leave design. The sterling silver case measures 23mm in diameter. Attached is the original, Hamilton .800 silver pin. It measures 34mm at the widest point and the entire length of the watch is 55mm. Serial number 957520. The total weight without the movement is 10 grams.
Original dial, with Sterling Silver Arabic numbers, hour and minute. Signed Hamilton under the 12 and Swiss below the 6 Covered with the original scratch free glass crystal.
Hallmarked Hamilton Swiss 17 Jewel Cal 26, shown here is a typical representative of mechanical movements produced in the "golden" quartz age, the early eighties. It is a modern constructed ladies' watch movement. The watch movement has been cleaned, tested, and is running strong, keeping excellent time.
The movements finer details: The three-leg ring balance is of course beared in two Incabloc shock protection systems, the hairspring is attached with a modern-type connector to the moveable hairspring stud, and its effective length can be regulated with yet another modern Hamilton type construction directly at the hairspring only. A characteristic thing of this movement is its indirectly driven minute hand (achieved by the third wheel), which allows increased space for a larger balance and a larger mainspring barrel. Both are responsible for longer runtime and increased precision.
