Alfredo Gualdi (Italian, 1885-1958) Bronze Sculpture, 1925, bust of two young brothers. Signed and dated left side “Alfredo Gualdi, B. Aires, 1925” and on the right side the foundry mark for “Trivium” Foundry. Measures about 13.5in height x 13.5in width x 7.5in depth. Condition: Uneven wear to patination and chips to top coat dark brown patination that frankly, all looks great, the piece has a great vintage patina to it. Born in Modena in 1885, Gualdi attended the Royal Institute of Fine Arts of Modena and graduated in sculpture in 1918. He participated in many art exhibitions in Italy and Argentina. During his career he made many monuments to the San Cataldo Cemetery and several bas-relief, including one for the tomb of the Gymnast Alberto Braglia, said to be his last work.
