An elegant pair of late 19th century tall Samson Shepherd & Shepherdess bocage figurines. These porcelain figurines are in the Chelsea style and show a Shepherd with a dog at his feet, and a Shepherdess with a sheep. Both standing against a tall green screen with white color-tipped flowers. Both pieces are marked with small gold anchors on the base of the tree which are frequently used by Samson. The figurines are about 10.25" tall and 6" wide. Condition: several chips to the flowers and green leaves, shepherd has chipped fingers on left hand, tiny chip to ear of lamb. The pieces are over a hundred years old, and have survived with minimal damage, this is commensurate with their age and authenticity.
