Eugene Alexandrovich Lancerary (Russian, 1875-1946) “Leo Tolstoy”, 1902, Bronze sculpture on more recent wood plinth. Signed and dated bottom right side “E. Nahcepe 1902” . Measures 7.25in height bronze only, 9in height x 7in x 6in with base. Condition: Excellent condition. Lanceray was an extremely talented multi-medium artist producing paintings, sculptures, illustrations, as well as scenic designs. He was commissioned to illustrate several of Tolstoy’s Caucasus novels beginning with The Hadji-Murat.
