William Kent Hagerman (American, 1893-1977). “N.W. University Chicago Campus”, circa 1950, etching depicting the Northwestern University campus from out on the lake with a little speed boat in the foreground and the whole Chicago skyline surrounding the campus. Pencil signed and titled in lower margin. Hagerman attended the Cleveland School of Art as well as the Sorbonne in Paris. He worked at commercial and fine art producing a number of etchings of Chicago city scenes. Framed in wood frame, matted under glare-free glass. Measures 16.25in x 13in framed and 10 x 7in image only. Condition: Etching has several sesame seed sized spots of foxing that are visible only under utmost scrutiny (as pictured). Also I’m not a fan of the glare-resistant glass, I think it dulls the image and if I was putting this in my home I’d switch the glass out for clear.
