Iver Rose (Chicago, 1899-1972) “Seven Eleven (Not a Spiritual)”, lithograph, circa 1940, titled, signed and numbered 46/60 lower margin. Born in Chicago April 17, 1899, Iver Rose studied at Hull House, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Cincinnati Academy of Art. He exhibited paintings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Carnegie Institute, and participated in traveling exhibitions of the American Federation of Arts and of Modern Art. During the Great Depression Rose was a easel painter under the auspices of the WPA and during this period his work reflected a Social Realist tone. Framed in limed oak wood frame, matted under glass. Measures 30in x 19in framed and 20.25in x 9.5in image only. Condition: Excellent vintage condition.
