Toshiro Katayama (Japanese/American, 1928-2013) Modernist Op-Art screenprint, circa 1970, signed lower right and numbered 48 of an edition of 70 lower left. Despite being self-taught Katayama rose to become a long-time Harvard Professor of Design and Director of The Carpenter Center for Visual Arts at the university. In addition Katayama had a long career outside the university as an artist and designer creating many works and exhibiting widely. Framed in chrome frame, matted under glass. Measures 29in x 29in framed and 21.25in x 21.25in image only. Condition: Excellent condition, a little waviness at top edge is noticeable under scrutiny but does not detract from the image.
