August Kuhne (Austrian, b. 1845 – d. 1895). Viennese bronze sculpture of a walker in Austrian folk attire, possibly from the province of Styria. He’s wearing a great duster coat and bush type hat with string supports as well as a walking stick. A few shafts of wheat linger between his feet. It is dated 1887 but the clothing dates to an earlier period. Signed in cast “A. Kuhne, 1887 Wien”.
