George van der Straeten (Belgian, 1856-1941) bronze bust of Belle Epoque era young woman looking of to her right as if in contemplation. Signed in casting on back along with the letter F and numerals 2686 and an inset medallion from the “Societe des Bronze de Paris”. Made of solid bronze mounted on figured marble pedestal which is in turn mounted to a black marble base with brass table lamp stem rising to a pair of light sockets with pull chains. This could be converted back to a freestanding sculpture if you’d prefer. Any lamp repair shop should be able to do this with a minimum of effort. Measures 31in to top of finial, and 16.5in to top of bronze. 9in width x 6.5in depth.
