Finely rendered pencil drawing depicting an Army Chaplin drawn by Italian prisoner of war Walter Discosti. Signed and dated 2-29-44 bottom right. Discosti went on to become an accomplished sculptor of most religious themes in his home country of Italy. Under glass in original period metal frame with both easel and hang rings so it will stand on a dresser or hang on the wall. Measures 16.25in x 12.25in framed and 15in x 11in image only.
