Offered by dealer David Grabel of Jersea Shore Antiques and The Yellow Garage Antiques is a classic metal Sealtest ice cream parlor sign. During the first half of the 20th century in-store soda fountains became increasingly popular. Manufacturers began creating eye appealing signs and advertisements to promote their scrumptious sweet treats. Long before ice cream names such as Baskin and Robbins, Haagen Dazs or Ben and Jerry's came on the market, Sealtest was not only offering its consumers the tried and true classic flavors, but was busy whipping "up some delightfully fun, and often very creative, ice cream flavours." The company outdid themselves in offering new and unique taste sensation combinations. Flavors such as Banana Strawberry Split, Candied Apple, Devil Mint, Peacheroo, and Cherry Nugget Prestige French were all hard to resist. By mid century, Sealtest had billed itself as "America's Favorite Ice Cream", a most probable claim in the ice cream industry. Imagine sitting in your favorite ice cream parlor, poring over the Sealtest flavor menu sign and trying to choose the delicious cool treats for your cone, dish or sundae. The sign presented remains in good condition with wear commensurate with age and use, and will display well in multiple settings. Its logo, boldly displayed at the top of the sign is clear and crisp. Although Sealtest milk products are still produced in some areas today, all ice cream products have been discontinued, adding to the collectible charm and value of this hard to find vintage Sealtest ice cream flavor sign.
