Exquisite vintage 14K yellow gold oval faceted emerald gemstone surrounded by pave diamonds. The earrings have an intricate, sophisticated design, wider at the lobe and then tapering somewhat and curving, so that they are almost a demi-hoop, but so much more. There are special design aspects throughout. They have a scalloped outer edge along its entire shape, and the center panel is raised, highlighting the emerald and diamonds trailing to the end of the earrings. The emeralds are not backed, allowing the light to capture the beautiful color of the stones. Please note that the emeralds are matched in color (reflection in some of the photos make it appear that that is not the case).
The emeralds are each 7mm by 5mm, totalling approximately one carat for the pair. There are 52 diamonds in the pair, graduating in size throughout, following the scale of the earrings themselves. The diamonds are white and bright. I am estimating approximately one-half carat of diamonds.
The weight for the pair is a substantial 6.1 grams. Earring measurement is 3/4" long by 7/16" wide at the top.
The earrings and clutch backs test as strong 14K. The clutches are marked 14K, and the earrings have very fine marks along their posts and are so fine that I am not able to identify them.
If you love emeralds and diamonds (who doesn't!), and fine gold craftsmanship, you will appreciate these wonderful earrings. Excellent estate pre-owned condition.
