Here is a stunning gold-filled Art Nouveau locket dating to the early 1900's and measuring 2” in diameter plus a ½” bale. It has a beautifully executed embossed Art Nouveau design and gorgeous Cobalt blue oval cabochon glass stone that creates the centerpiece of this gorgeous locket. The back cover has a plain brushed finish with hand engraved initials NWK and the inside is marked S.B. Co. which stands for the Standard Button Co. of Attleboro Massachusetts dating it to the early 1900’s. Inside there are 2 original picture frames to hold pictures in place and the locket opens easily and snaps firmly shut. The overall condition as captured in the photographs is very good with the exception of the following. There are 3 small scratches on the front cover on the edge at 1 o’clock and on the back cover there are a couple of small scratches at 10 o’clock and one deeper file mark on the edge at 3 o’clock. There are some tiny scratches on the surface of the Cobalt blue stone that are hardly noticeable but considered normal for its age and gentle use. Lastly, there are some very light surface scratches overall consistent with age and use and being mentioned to be accurate. This beautifully executed locket would make a stunning special addition to any women’s Art Nouveau locket collection.
