Here is a stunning long oval Edwardian gold filled locket dating to c1915 This rare beauty measures 2 ¼” long including the bale and is 1” wide. It has 3 beautifully executed engraved swirly designs along with tiny engraved leaves accented with 6 clear sparkly rhinestones completing the design. The locket opens easily and snaps firmly shut and has all its original rhinestones which bright and sparkly. Inside there are 2 original frames that lift out with your fingernail to add pictures if you wish. It is trademarked on the inside cover 1874 RBM Atrice with a Bumble Bee Logo and one frame is stamped Pat Feb 10, 1903 which indicates it was manufactured by MacDonald & Co, Inc., RB. This company was founded in 1874 in Attleboro Mass. and produced gold filled jewelry pins, lockets and medallions and other small trinkets of jewelry. This gently used locket is in very good vintage condition with a few very light surface scratches hardly noticeable but consistent with age and use and mentioned to be accurate. This lovely Edwardian locket is spectacular in person and would make a great addition to anyone’s locket collection.
