Here is an unusual and huge Mid Century Modern amber and Sterling ring, designed and signed by artisan Einer Fehrn and dating to the 1950’s. Master crafted at the House of Amber in Copenhagen, this stunning oval cabochon ring measures 1½” high including the shank by 1” long with the stone and setting together measuring ¾” high without the ring shank. The amber stone by itself measures 3/8” high by 1 ½” long (not including a small piece below the setting). The ring is stamped EF, Sterling, Denmark Handmade and weighs 25 grams or 8 ounces. This amber stone is a fossilized resin that has inclusions of bubbles, dust particles and even plant matter which are proof that the resin is thousands of years old. The ring size is 6.75 and is in very good vintage condition with some surface scratches on the silver consistent with age and use and being mentioned to be accurate. This rare signed modernist artisan Sterling and amber ring would make a great addition to any woman’s silver ring collection.
