Dating to the late 18th to the very early 19th Century this Swedish Wrought Iron Candle Rush Holder is a wonderful example of Folk Art design and workmanship from a very skilled and experienced blacksmith. A detailed examination reveals almost countless fine hammer marks, shaving marks, and other tool marks. Besides the decorative loops and curlicues, the leaf-shaped drip pan has blunt cold chiseled decorative marks for surface texturing.
