This black and yellow game board defines each of the 144 squares with incised lines which give greater definition and enhances each space. Within the body of the gameboard are 2 drawers opposite each other to hold each opponents game pieces; in this instance, 12 blue-black pieces and 11 light-colored pieces are included in the drawers.
The sides of the game board, like the guardrail that surrounds the playing area, are black with the drawer fronts being contrasting yellow. The entire game board, with exception of the game pieces and the drawer pulls, is made of solid poplar salvaged from a former use. The paint surface is all original one coat with no touch-ups and exhibits very fine crackling on all surfaces. Visually very striking with the black and yellow décor, plus the seldom seen drawers for game piece. Age: 1st quarter of the 20th Century.
Dimensions: 18 13/16" x 18 15/16" x 2 9/16" ± 1/16" (Depth)
