We are pleased to offer this early and rare papier mache milliner's model doll for your consideration. She is in the hard to find dollhouse size of 6 1/2" and has a very elaborate hairstyle with her hair pulled back into a bun and with long ringlet curls on each side. Her face is painted very well with blue eyes, single stroke brows, nostril dots and a hint of a smile. She is on her original kid body with wooden arms and legs. She has cupped hands and blue paper bands where her legs meet the kid body. Her silk dress and black lace overlay appear to be original and sewn onto the body. There is some separation and melting of her dress. Dating from the 1840's she is in very good condition save for some for some crazing on her hair and shoulder plate and some slight loss of paint to her hair. There is also a small split in leather to one of her legs. She has gold painted shoes.
