Having acquired magnificent miniatures from an estate, we are pleased to offer this antique apprentice piece from England. It was made as a sample of a woodworking student's ability for his final exam, but it is scaled so beautifully for your 12" - 14" that we are offering it as such. It has inlaid mahogany with satinwood banding over a central drawer which is flanked by single short drawers. There is a tooled leather top with gilt accent lines. The opposite side of the desk has corresponding faux drawers and the brass hardware is original. It dates circa 1880 - 1900 and has square tapered legs. There is also a pull out candle stand on each side of the desk. This wonderful piece can also be used as a bureau plat. It measures 13" long X 7" deep X 5 1/2" tall. We have displayed it with items in a similar scale, but only the desk is offered in this listing.
