This highly polished miniature brass footman was brought back from England many years ago. It was hand forged many years before that, about the end of the 19th century, possibly by a young apprentice to illustrate a mastery of his skills. What a fine job he accomplished in creating this piece exactly like the full scale version, which was used in front of fireplaces to hold hot pots or utensils. It is gleaming in front of our miniature fireplace. In current times it can also have a very practical purpose as a trivet or display piece for an important object. It can also be used in a scene or vignette with large scale dolls. Only the miniature brass footman is available for sale at this time.
The approximate measurements are: 6" wide X 4 1/2" dep X 5 12" high.
