Ada Odenrider Bridgman is a famous doll artist from the Seattle, Tacoma area. She specialized in creating exquisite reproductions of 1800's era doll and elaborate fashions for her dolls. This china doll was found in the bottom of an old box of dolls. She has been a hard doll to part with but it is time. She has on a terribly ripped dress but is a fine example of why Odenrider's dolls were so sought after. She does have a doll stand inserted in as part of the costuming which is an odd thing but we did not remove it. She is about 12" tall with amazing details to her facial expression. She has china arms and legs and head and has on her leg a band that reads "Ada Bridgman Odenrider Original". This artist is featured in A Past and Present Portrait of Dolls" book by Carol Jacobsen.
The doll has light crazing but excellent condition. We think maybe her hair was to be jeweled as it is indented.
Rare Rare doll by a famous doll artist.
