Jean Pouyat is known for stunning examples of hand painted Limoges china especially with rose motifs. This large beautiful vase is almost 13" tall and 7 1/2" wide. It is beautifully painted with a bouquet of yellow roses on one side and red and pink ones on the other. It is signed F. M. MClaus, '95. It is beautifully executed. At some point damaged occurred at the mouth of the vase (see second to the last picture). Two of the scallops on the edge were chipped at 6 and 9 o'clock and were gilded to make the damage less conspicuous. There also appears to be a repair at 3 o'clock. This is an old repair and these blemishes are not readily apparent on first glance. There is also some minor gold wear to the high points on the handles. It is marked on the bottom as shown. It is nevertheless still definitely a statement piece and worthy of your consideration. Please e-mail us if you have any additional questions. We have been in business for 30 years.
