Spode's famous Christmas Tree pattern was designed in 1938 by Harold Holloway who had never seen a Christmas Tree before. Contrary to traditions in the United States he hung the presents from the tree and put a Santa Claus on top. Despite these differences the pattern became an instant success and today is the most famous Christmas pattern in the world. Production switched from Great Britain in 2006. Today pieces with the made in England factory mark are highly sought after. This is the large triangular tray. It is 10 3/8" tall. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or repairs. It was used sparingly if at all. It is marked on the bottom with the made in England factory mark as shown. We have over 100 pieces of this pattern in stock.
