This demitasse cup and saucer was issued by Lenox China in 1989 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the company. Lenox was originally known as the Ceramics Art Company and the first item in their original catalog was this pattern known as #1. It was later named the Hawthorne pattern. It is an embossed pattern covered with hawthorne blossoms. The demitasse is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or repairs. The cup is 1 5/8" tall and 2 7/8" in diameter. The saucer is 4 5/8" in diameter. The commemorative information is printed on the bottom of the saucer in black as shown. The cup has the Lenox trademark in gold.
